Method With The Voice Utility Software

With this method, you will need a small software that you will find   here and a USB cable to modify the internal memory of the GPS. If you need a thread, you can buy from my page on the Nuvi map update. This software is called Voice Utility and allows you to decompile the vbm files that you can find in the / Garmin / Voice directory. Before modifying any of its files, I advise you to save these files in a safe place. When you decompile a vbm file, you get several small files. Each of these small files allows you to modify a particular order. Here is the list of commands for a gps of the garmin 300 series: For other models, there may be more files (and the numbers are different List Of Orders To Be Recorded

After recording your voices, you replace each of the files in the vbm file with the ones you have saved. The utility will convert your file into the proper wave format. After you use the “Join” function and specify the directory where these files are saved. You overwrite the unit’s .vbm file with yours (always make a backup).
