How To Fix A Garmin Gps that Opens and Stays Frozen on the Start Screen

The purpose of this maneuver is to be able to enter the USB storage mode. From there, you will be able to delete (or modify) what is problematic. Start by renaming some files. First of all, make a backup copy on your computer.

If these maneuvers do not solve the problem or you have formatted your device in NTFS, try formatting the disk in FAT or FAT32 format. You can recover most of the missing files with the webupdater software.

Remove the GPS safely. It should close by itself (some devices will remain open). Close the Garmin device with the switch in this case.

You can now reflash the original firmware with updater.exe (in pre-boot mode).

Warning: Do not use special firmware with a Kenwood or GVN GPS
